silver wire tree on rock by Rhed-Dawg silver wire tree on rock by Rhed-Dawg
Another tiny wire tree, I used silver wire this time, and I like the way it looks, the whole sculpture is only about 3 inches tall, the tree is 1 and 1/2 inches tall. If you look very closely you can see a little copper wire birds nest on the right hand side of the tree!

How pretty. Can I ask a question? As a person just starting out making wire trees, what kind of wire would you recommend? Are there brands to avoid?

Thank you. I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you.
I actually buy copper wire from the hardware store then strip off the plastic coating. It's much cheaper this way. I really don't go by brand at all.

From the hardware store, not from craft stores? I didn't know about that. Thank you for telling me, and my apologies for taking so long to reply to you.

Hey Evey, I see your work getting better and better. ;) Now that you have learned how to give life to your branches and limbs, you have to start working on your roots. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP IT UP !!!

Thank you, I misjudged the length of my wire so the roots came out all stumpy, I'll be sure to leave more next time.

You are getting so good with your trees, at first glance of this one, I was sure that it was taller until I read your notes. But like I said before, keep up with the great work. The way that you are advancing is just incredible though! Pretty soon you will be eclipsing my works and I mean this sincerely Evey!!! :D

Thank you so much, I started another one today, a bigger tree, I remembered to leave enough wire for the roots and in fact have started them first. I enjoy making these little guys, some come out better then others. When I'm not painting which is my passion, I work on my trees.

Thank you Deb. It is a piece of Jasper that I found at the coast. After I glued the tree on I sprayed the whole thing with triple coat clear glaze, I wanted the rock very shiny! for the fav. on it!
