This is my latest project for the art festival that is on the 11th and 12th of this month. It's a copper pine on a piece of polished Manzanita, the tree is 12 inches tall. Not the best photo, sorry about that.
Wow, that's gorgeous! I love the pine needles, gives it a realistic look. Awesome grain and colors in the wood.Do you still have more to make for the festival or was this the last one? You have an amazing collection, hope the festival is fantastic for you!!
I just found out Manzanita ( a name I grew up hearing as a child) & the taller Madrona tree from up North are of the same family group. The color of the wood is just lovely. Would make a beautiful walking stick.
Do you make the branches 1st & then attach/ coil the to the trunk part? Don't mind me I just like understanding how things are done even if I am not ever going to attempt to do it myself.
I love Madrone trees they are gorgeous. They grow a lot bigger then Manzanita. I did make the branches first, each group of needles is made then put together to form branches then twisted to make the trunk of the tree. It really is a lot of work, but I do enjoy making them.
